Johnston Carmichael Appoints Leading Business Developer

 Johnston Carmichael, Scotland’s largest firm of independent accountants and business advisers are set to expand their already thriving Central Belt operation with the recent appointment of one of Scotland’s leading professional services business developers. Adam Hardie had a successful sales management track record in industry, before focusing on the professional services market with a Big Four then a mid-sized accounting firm in Scotland. He has a particular expertise in strategy and has in recent years assisted numerous Scottish businesses in their growth and strategic development. Hardie commented, “In today’s challenging conditions businesses are inclined to be more demanding of their advisers; seeking more effective, more proactive advice and better value for money. Our country’s top entrepreneurs consistently cite that good, timely advice from advisers is part of the key to their success. I firmly believe that JohnstonCarmichael are best placed to deliver on this.” He joins at an exciting time for the Edinburgh team of Johnston Carmichael, who are set to move to larger open-plan offices in Melville Street early next month. Hardies’ primary role will be to assist with the growth strategies of the Edinburgh and Glasgow offices. Although, originally a North East firm, the Central Belt operation now represents a significant percentage of Johnston Carmichael’s total fee income. The company employs 450 people and has a market leading expertise in the owner-managed business sector, across a range of sectors, including hospitality, food, construction and financial services.
